EMBOSSED HERITAGE

Our shop in Vienna is located in the heart of 7th district in the Gutenberggasse 1, Spittelberg. The street's name refers to the famous inventor of letterpress Johannes Gutenberg. This location made us look closer to book engravings, embossing leather and signatures.

The Wiener Werkstätte (1903–1932) had a great bookbinding workshop supported by Carl Beitel. Members like Koloman Moser, Josef Hoffmann would design their own book covers and press their own designs.

This emboss pattern on SAGAN Vienna small leather goods is made in this traditional technique of book cover embossing by a book maker.
